Does this stock have to be fitted, glass bedded and free floated by a gunsmith?

A
Answered by Bruce, guest, from GA, United States, on January 08, 2022

That will all depend on the individual weapon. My stainless stalker in 308 Win was just plug and play. It still shoots under 1 MOA and that is plenty good for hunting eastern whitetails. It looks so nice that my wife actually has claimed it as hers. You can bed yourself if you want but it likely won't be necessary. I expect the barrel won't be touching but if it does some extra fine sandpaper in the barrel channel would do the trick to free float. Just remember to remove only small amounts where the barrel touches and then re-check. If you are not comfortable doing this and it doesn't shoot the same them try a gunsmith.
