What is the difference between the 5 and the 6th???

A
Answered by Zucher, member, from PA, United States, on March 06, 2026

I am planning to get the 6. I have the 5 and the biggest thing I hate about it…some idiot in the planning phase changed the battery installation from a screw cap . Where..if in the field and you have to change the battery. Simply twist off the cap and install a new battery. The 5 has 4tiny screws on a plate. You can barely see them on the bench.changing them in the field is impossible. I would recommend the 6 and the 3 or 4 if you can locate one. Stay away from the 5. Zzzzz
