There should not be an issue using this scope with a 22 caliber rifle.

The parallax only goes down to 50 yards. Anything closer will be out of focus. This info is in the product info.

While the minimum parallax is 50m, this scope has can be FOCUSED to allow a clear site picture at 25m (which is as close as I was for my initial site-in). There are some great videos out there that discuss parallax and I recommend watching those for further understanding. I currently have this scope mounted on my precision 6.5 Creedmoore, but I'm considering purchasing another for a Bergara BMR 22 LR for training/practice. Arguably, this is a lot of scope for a 22lr and a bit on the heavy side, but it's phenomenal and will work very well for a bench gun. Weight is largely due to the glass and durability of construction.
