The yardage marks on the objective lens is the parallax adjustment. When zeroing the scope first adjust the ocular lens to make sure your target is clear in your scope at the given distance you are shooting. I would then adjust the parallax adjustment to the yardage you are shooting. Here is a link to an article that will explain parallax and how it helps focus your reticle on your target.
