Depends on the rifle you are mounting it on. I just put one on a bolt action .22 and in order for the bolt to clear the large eye piece, I needed to go with high rings. On a semi-auto, there is no bolt, so you can typically go lower. However on a semi-auto the interference point will be the front objective hitting the barrel. Medium may be ok for a semi-auto. Buy the scope and two sets of rings from OP and then return the rings you don't need.
