Can you switch the choke tubes if you want to with this barrel if you want to swap the Mod choke? What does VR mean also?

The VR means Vent Rib. Yes the barrel is threaded for Remington choke tubes, so you will be able to remove the Mod choke and install any Rem choke into the barrel.

All Benelli Nova & Super Nova Replacement Barrels are 3 1/2" Chambered

It comes with just one Beretta/Benelli mobil choke
