According to the Celestron website they sell a 8"Schmidt Cassegrain or C8 mounted to this mount.

It was made for a C8-11, although 11 is pushing it.

I bought my AVX mount here at Planet Optics last spring, attached it to an old Celestron Powerstar 4 "C8 OTA" and got the best viewing I have ever gotten with it in the last 30 years.

A Powerstar 4 is a SCT but from what I have read it works equally well with a Newtonian.

As far as dealing with Planet Optics goes, they are willing to make a deal. I have made two large purchases from them over the past several years and both time they outdid the "Godfather" himself in making me an offer that I couldn't refuse.

So the answer is: Yes, it will work with a C8.
