The Chef's Choice Pronto 463 Santoku/Asian Manual Diamond Hone Sharpener won't ruin your knives but certain knife manufacturers recommend sharpening their knives with specific methods. Global Cutlery recommends using a waterstone or ceramic stone to sharpen their knives.
