would this fit on a remington 870 tactical with a 6 round magazine tube?

From my experience, I noticed the thread, on both shotgun tube magazine are different, I believe it won’t fit. Choate Tool dose make one, that is for Remington

Will this work on a 590 shockwave? Is it an actual extension? How many extra shells it add?

Yes, it is an actual extension and adds 2 rounds to bring the total capacity to 7 rounds in most standard 5-round tubes. Choate Tool does not list direct compatibility with the Shockwave platform. I would recommend reaching out to Choate directly to verify whether they can confirm direct compatibility.
