What front sight is used with this gas block?

The rail of this gas block sits at the same height as the receiver top rail and any standard rail mounted front sight will be compatible.

Will this fit on an 18 inch barrel with an aero atlas R-one 15 inch hand guard?

No, this will not be compatible since it is too large to fit inside of the handguard. You will need a low profile gas block.
