To our knowledge there are no markings on the left side of this carrier.

Colt is transitioning from the traditional “C” mark on their carriers, to their cage code engraved under the extractor. Both markings signify that the Bolt Carrier Group is an authentic Colt M4 BCG. When ordering, you may receive a BCG with a “C” or a cage code during Colt’s transitional period, you will be clone correct either way.
