The pouches are designed to fit AR-15 magazines. The difference in the angle of AK magazines will affect the compatibility. You may be able to use it for AK mags, but you will not be able to get 6 mags to fit.

The AR-15 is the civilian variant of the M4/M16. Yes, it will fit AR-15 magazines.
