So the .40 cal barrel wont fit on this slide or any other .40 barrel? Right?

According to Faxon Firearms the Faxon Firearms Smith & Wesson M&P Hellfire Slide w/RMR Cut will only accept 9mm barrels for the S&W M&P.

This slide is compatible with the frame from the 5" Pro Series M&P, but it will require a shorter 4.25" barrel.

Unfortunately, no, the slide is only designed to work with 9mm barrels and internal components.

The Faxon M&P slide is intended for use with the Gen1 Full Size M&P 4.25".

Yes, this is compatible with Gen 1 Smith & Wesson M&P frames. This slide does not come with sights installed.

Will this slide fit an m&p 2.0 compact 9mm, or is it intended for full size only?

According to Faxon's site they only offer this and any other slides for the M&P in a FULL SIZE version. I too would like a slide with top and side cut porting. Got a very nice chameleon barrel from Blacklist that I'd like to show off. And thats why I ended up here, looking for a slide to fit my Compact 2.0. I have both a full size and compact. Barrel length is about 3/4 in. longer on the full size so I don't feel warm and fuzzy about spending this much on a slide that won't fit on the one I bought the barrel for. Hope this helps
