FLIR states only "NTSC composite video Thru USB port via Custom USB to RCA cable. Output switchable to PAL via user GUI", no mention is made of still photos.

Battery can't be replaced with aftermarket. a) "Normal" battery life? b) Can unit owner purchase/replace or is it factory replacement ? c) Cost ???

Battery life is approximately 5 hours. The battery can not be replaced.

Does this accept disposable lithium batteries or is the mentioned internal lithium battery a rechargeable?

This has an internal battery that is not replaceable with aftermarket batteries, but it is a rechargeable lithium ion battery.

What’s the difference between this and the Scout III 640?

They are essentially the same unit with a different color exterior, however the LS-XR adds an 8x magnification option that the Scout III doesn't have.

What is the difference between the international model and the US model?

The International model can be exported to select countries. It also has a lower refresh rate than the US model (7.5Hz vs 30Hz).
