This picture can help tell if you have mil spec or commerical spec buffer https://www.luth-ar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Carbine-Buffer-Tube-Compare-1.png Also on the out diameter of the buffer tube for mil spec is 1.148" with the height being 1.185" this height being taken from front of the buffer tube where the threads are at.
