do I need to change batteries on this safe

Yes, yellow light flashing indicates low battery at which time the batteries should be changed. Is this safe truly "fireproof" or fire retardant. I need something that won't let my valuables burn.

These personal fire safes have a fire rating of 1400 degrees for 30 minutes.
