I have installed my barrel on my 320 compact. The recoil spring extends beyond the frame. What have I done wrong? — 2 Answers

You have the recoil spring installed 90°off. The flat part of the end ring should be vertical, not horizontal against the barrel. Many people will think to place the flat side against the barrel but it needs to be vertical so the slide can clear the spring assembly.
