Does this attaches to the barrel nut end of the stock?

The Hogue AR15/M16 4.5in. Free Float Forend attaches to the barrel nut like a standard AR forend.

Hogue states that is compatible with the carbine and mid-length forends, so unfortunately it will not fit your rifle length model.
