Yes, this stock does require a heat plate as it does not come with one. Our Ruger Mini 14/30 stocks come as pictured with installed sling swivel mounts pre-installed and no heat plate or liner. It requires the Ruger stock Forearm Liner to be used. Please note Aftermarket Forearm Liners may not fit correctly.
