Yes. The owner's manual for the HE509T-RD states the following: "The sight may be installed on various firearms such as shotguns, pistols, rifles, air rifles and crossbows."

I think so. A pistol slide recoil more violently than a shotgun.

It is really intended for pistols with slides that are milled to accept optics. While its possible to mill a shotgun to accept it, there are better options that are designed for that type of application.
