The Holosun HS507C-X2 Reflex Red Dot Sight comes with a picatinny rail mount. So the Holosun HS507C-X2 Reflex Red Dot Sight can be mounted to a Mossberg 940 Tactical if it has a picatinny rail on the receiver.

The 940 Tactical when equipped from the factory comes with the HS407K model and it mounts directly. This sight, the HS 507C-X2 will NOT fit without an adapter plate. The 507 has a slightly longer mount base than the 407 which keeps it from fitting. In short, NO this sight will not fit directly to the Mossberg 940 Tactical. I hope this helps, and yes I took my 407K off and tried to fit one of my HS507C-X2 and verified it will not mount directly.
