Brass is very easily tarnished and this solutions is not meant for brass for that reason but it will still clean it in the sense that it will help remove carbon, dirt, etc. The brass cleaning solution is formulated for Brass specifically. Best way I can explain this is to take a brass fixture, door knob, lever action rifle receiver, trumpet, or anything else that is solid brass and clean it with a regular metal and finish safe cleaner of your choosing. You will find that the stainless, aluminum, iron, parts are super clean with no problems but the same cleaner will tarnish and wreck the finish of the brass material. Use a Brass specific cleaner and or Brass polish and it will clean to a mirror finish. I'd buy both and just appreciate that having both will make both last a long time. You can also buy smaller bottles elsewhere if the price is that much of a problem.
