Is this set compatible with Hornady bass and sierra match king projectiles? If so why does the description say Lapua ammo?

Yes, the Hornady Match Grade Dieset will work with Hornady Brass and Sierra Match King projectiles. The portion of the description that says Lapua Ammo was a mistake and being corrected.

What is the advantage of using these dies over the regular Hornady dies?

This is what the manufacturer says is the advantage of using these Hornady Match Grade Dies. "Hornady® Match™ Grade Dies give you total control over neck tension in the resizing process. These dies feature the ability to use interchangeable, self-centering neck size bushings that eliminate the chance of over sizing your case necks and overworking the brass."
