This crossbow does not have a buffer tube, it uses a proprietary stock system. As for a cranking device, you can also use this crank cocking device: https://www.opticsplanet.com/killer-instinct-ki-series-crank-cocker.html

Is the stock short enough for a 10 year old shoot on a bench ?

Yes the stock is adjustable. You can get the length of pull pretty short.
