What mm scope can be mounted with this ? Can I use a 4-12 40 mm

40mm and 44mm, absolutely. You should be able to use up to a 50mm objective.

Does this mount work with the Pre-1964 model 94?

This mount is made for a Winchester Model 1894, anything else we cannot guarantee fitment on the pre 64 models.

Can I mount a 4-32x50 (1"tube) scope with these on my model 94?

Yes, the 1" tube should work as well as the 50mm objective lens.

Will this work with a 3x9x50 scope?

No, a 50mm objective will not fit. I tried it with 2 different base plates and the best you can do is probably a 44mm objective. I used a 42mm and it fit great. I had to put the 50mm on a different rifle.
