The Lantac Dragon Muzzle Brake will work on an Smith and Wesson M&P10, but you will need to make sure you select the .308 model and make sure the threads on your barrel are 5/8x24. This is Lantac Dragon Muzzle Brake model DGN762B. So AR10's are not as universal or parts compatible like AR15's. There are a lot of variance between AR10's and their components. So certain AR10 parts or upgrades that may be compatible with one brand rifle may not be compatible with yours. However, there are most likely a variety of interchangeable parts with your rifle, you just will have to do some research before to ensure they will work. When it comes to modifications, this all depends on what your are going to be using the rifle for as well as personally preference.
