Yes, it will fit the magnum actions as well. 3.5" and under chamber clearance.

This will fit magnum actions however, it is not compatible with 20 gauge.

My concern is that there will be slight movement in the mount on the gun. Does this mount have a tight fit on the REM 870 even with firing 3" shells?

This is a tight fitting mount however, as with all side mounts, there is the possibility for slight movement.

No, the 887 is wider than the 870 and the trigger pins on the 887 are the same size, while on the 870 they are 2 different sizes.
