I have trouble understanding how this "7X" device can magnify anywhere close to monocular high quality scopes of 24-40X, etc. 7X seems weak. Confused. — 2 Answers

It does not magnify close to a 24-40x scope, that is not the intended purpose of this device. This is a fixed power 7x magnification laser rangefinder, it is designed to aim at a target and uses a laser to identify how far away it is.

I have never seen a 24-40x monocular because it would be unusable at that magnification--you wouldn't be able to hold it steady enough. The point is the RX2800's glass is so good that it can function as a 7x monocular along with being an outstanding range finder.
