As long as you have a picatinny rail on the rifle it will work and be easy to mount. However it is an AR height optic so it may not be ideal on the Ruger American, as you will need to adjust your cheek weld to use it.

Yes, the HD7 will mount on the new Ruger mini 14 ranch rifle, with the included rail.

The HD7 is built with the mount and optical center at 1.75 over the rail. Placing it at the Mil-Spec Lower 1/3 Co-Witness height, compatible with the A2 front sight on a AR-15.

You can mount this on any firearm as long as it has a picatinny rail on it.
