How does this lock in a buffer tube without an endplate? Would tightening down and staking castlenut sufficient enough?

The FAB Defense Mossberg 500/590 Shotgun Pistol Grip includes a proprietary adapter that functions as an endplate, allowing you to install a buffer tube with a castle nut.
