No, this buffer is designed to be used with pistol caliber carbines, such as 9mm.

Yes and no. The brace will work, but this one comes with the 7.6 ounce pistol (9mm) buffer weight, which won’t work for 5.56 or 300 AAC. You need the Maxim H1 buffer weight for a 7.5 inch barrel in 5.56. Visit the Maxim Defense website to view their chart (on the CQB Gen 6 brace product page) showing buffer weights recommended for various calibers and barrel lengths.
