We're sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the product. We recommend contacting the manufacturer for information on operating this, as we unfortunately no longer have the documentation available. Their contact information can be found at this link: https://www.meade.com/contact-us/

A concise answer to your question is very difficult. You should be able to find a copy of the owner/operator manual on-line. Its an equatorial mount and requires some knowledge about how to set it up properly in order to use the drive motor(s) for tracking purposes. This procedure is called polar aligning and if you google it, you'll find a ton of vids and pages on the subject. And more importantly, if you have limited knowledge about the construction and use of "newtonian reflectors" in general, I highly suggest reading all about "Newtonian collimation", which is the process of aligning the optical components in the scope. This is essential and is the most crucial part of using this type of scope. Otherwise, if you ever decide its not your thing and you dont want it anymore... I've been looking for one of those for a while, and coincidentally, I live in Ab.ca as well. ; )
