Will this work without a ghost ring rear sight or any other rear sight?

Mossberg 500's with the threaded front sight post usually always function as a standalone sighting system whereas the dovetailed front sight should be used with a rear sight (due to its height over bore/vent unless you can get it to co-witness with a micro red dot) Though I suppose you could go without a rear sight but accuracy would suffer
