The reticle is first focal plane. The dot is second focal plane. The dot turns off at about 2.5x and switches to reticle Illum. Another little advertised feature is the parallax is 75m with the dot and 200m afterwards(the parallax numbers are from memory)

It has both actually. At 1x its a SFP red dot, and at magnification its a FFP.
