I'm not sure of the material but this is the hose (F273704), per Mr. Heater technician/customer support, that does not require the use of a filter. I installed this hose on a Buddy heater a couple of weeks ago, without a filter. I should have an indication after hunting season if it actually lives up to its billing. Also, I used a different hose last year with a filter on a Buddy heater. When I went to connect the hose this year, there was a oily liquid leaking out of the hose. Once I connected it to the filter, gas wouldn't flow through the filter. I checked the heater with a 1 lb. bottle and it worked fine. So, I'm in the process of ordering another F273704 hose. I'm going to take the technician at his word!
