why is this scope called a "Hybrid."

The "Hybrid" reference is just the name of the scope because the manufacturer states that they have have designed the scope to include all of the "best" features including low profile turrets, a one piece tube design, and eye piece focusing ring. There is no specific reason why the scope has that name.
