you absolutely can.... they dont want you doing .308 or similar cal. its absolutely perfect for .300 blk out... anything more pressure than that do midlength or rifle gas tube.

The gas block will blow up if you use it on a pistol length gas system. Good luck with your handguard, gas tube, and possible body parts. There are images on the web of this happening. Be safe dont use this!!!!
