Digital night vision is improving all the time, and it varies from device to device. In this particular case I would put this on par with most Gen 2 devices, with Gen 2+ being slightly better. However these have the added benefit of being usable in daylight.

Chase from Optics Planet states in one of his you tube videos that "digital night vision is better than Gen 1 but not quite Gen 2 level. He made this as a general statement, not referring to any specific brand or type of digital night vision.
