I have a home built AR9 with a 7.5" barrel with adjustable gas block. I sometimes run a suppressor. Would you recommend the 8.3 or 6.5oz? and why? — 4 Answers

AR9s are direct blowback and don’t use a gas system so I think you may be confused on the adjustable gas block.

How the heck did you find a 9mm bolt that has a gas key or a 9mm barrel with a place to put a gas block? If you don’t have those, go heavier.

NO! For blowback systems only.

Maybe your don’t understand the name ar9. It refers to 9mm ar platforms. I’ve heard of piston, roller delayed, radial delayed, hydraulic delayed, and of course your typical direct blow back. None of the ones I’ve ever heard of use a gas system. The only piston is from sig and it’s definitely not adjustable. How did you fit a 9mm bolt into a direct impingement bolt carrier group? Where did you find a 9mm bolt with bolt lugs? I know cmmg bolts have lugs for their radial delayed blow back but they don’t use a has system. If this is a real thing for the love of god please tell us all the details. A gas impingement 9mm ar sounds awesome. It’s probably softer shooting than an mp5 or mpx.
