They are ip67, NOT 68. They are rated for water immersion less than one meter for less than 30 min.

The OTTO Engineering NoizeBarrier Micro has a 28db rating. There are ear plugs available that have higher ratings but it will depend on if you want electronic hearing protection or not. The SureFire EP10 Sonic Defenders Ultra Max Full-Block Foam-Tipped Earplugs at the link below have a 30db rating but are not electronic.

Would these be appropriate for spectating at MotoGp races, Formula One and the like? Intermittent very loud sound for 10 - 20 seconds.

Yes, the OTTO Engineering NoizeBarrier Micro would work well for that application. These will protect your hearing in those few seconds of loud noises but then allow you to have conversations once those moments of loud noise pass.

The OTTO Engineering NoizeBarrier Micro does have a hearing enhancement mode. This amplifies soft sounds up to 5x, while maintaining normal level hearing for other noises.
