Any ideas how use it to make dry firing more effective?

The MkIV XP mic was not really designed to pick up dryfire, so most folks will use the PAR time functionality. Set a time, run your drill, and if you beat it, dial it back. Do this as necessary until you're finishing with the buzzer. From there you can slowly lower the time to challenge yourself. There is a cadence function as well, but it may not prove to be quite as beneficial depending on what drill you are running. You can find more info on the cadence function in the MkIV XP user manual should you need it.

To get a machinegun's rate of fire/rounds per minute, do you need to use windscreens OR the unit can do it by itself?

Hey Ace,

The MkIV XP uses the microphone for RPM mode. You will not need the SkyScreens for this mode.

This does not. you’d need to add a set of Skyscreens.
