Are you able to use regular lithium-iom batteries (non-rechargeable) if needed ?

It will only work with 18650 batteries.

in all the kits shown there are two different light mounts, in my kit I received a pinch light to scope mount, why and what are the pros and cons ?

Your kit should have come with two mounts, one to mount it to a standard picatinny rail, and the other to mount it to a scope tube. There's no real advantage to one over the other, they simply include both mounts because many people mounting it on a traditional style rifle will not have enough rail space to mount it to the rail. By mounting it on their scope instead, they can still have a rifle scope on the rifle. If you have a gun with a longer rail, such as an AR pattern rifle, then the rail mount will work.
