The red dot needs to be unmounted and the battery can be changed.

The red dot DOES NOT have to be unmounted. Simply remove the two Allen nuts on top. The optic will come off and the base will remain seated on the weapon. Flip the optic over, replace the battery with a CR2032, and reinstall the optic. This (mostly) preserves your zeroing of the optic, but you should nevertheless range-verify accuracy after each maintenance cycle.
