I just confirmed with the OP; yes it is MK111 MOD2-M (PicLok). The newest model. Awesome.

On the 11.85" .223 Wylde upper, is the compensator pinned & welded or can it be changed out?

It is not pinned and welded, it can be removed.

Yes this is a piston upper that comes with it's own specific bolt carrier group.

Do you need a special buffer tube to use this upper? And if so will it otherwise be fully functional with a standard mil-spec lower with your tube?

Id to with a h2, even though it has gas adjustments its a good weight for a buffer. I have a 8.5oucne buffer but i gave a pws diablo mod 0 that has no adjustable gas options so with a suppressor and a 7inch barrel a heavy heavy buffer is the only way.
