Does this filter out loud noises such as made on the shooting range. In other words does this replace the standard ears that most people wear.

They come as one unit, for one ear. the same unit can be worn on left or right ear because the kit comes with left and right ear hooks. But to be clear. this unit, this price is for one ear unit, not 2
