The Pulsar 2-16x Thermion 2 LRF XP50 Pro Thermal Imaging Rifle Scope has a maximum detection range of 2000 yards. However, the manufacturer does not state the identification range at which you would be able to identify a heat signature as a coyote.

I have the thermion without the LRF and have shot coyotes in the 300-400 yards range. You can see them much further away than that.I’ve seen them at 700-800 yards without a problem. Depending on the conditions (humidity tends to diminish clarity with all thermal devices) With more time behind the scope the better you get at identifying the heat source by the way they behave. (Deer tend to stand around and graze where coyotes don’t stand around much and seem to be always on the move) but always know your target before sending lead. I have owned ATN,iray and pulsars and the pulsars are the ones I like best. Currently I have 3 , the trail xp50 LRF,a helion xp50 scanner and the thermion xp50.
