The button HAS to be moved to the other side to fit certain Mark I pistols (depends on your serial number). I had to move it on mine. It is relatively easy to do - took me all of 2 minutes. Instructions were included in the box. The instructions do not warn you to maintain control over the spring as you remove the base plate. I knew to do that, but everyone may not.
