My Ruger no 1 is a model 1B with a 26” barrel and a Quarter Rib in 25-06. Front and back rings are the same height. You can use a medium height Ruger extended ring on the front to move most 40 mm objective scopes far enough to the rear. The turret on all of my scopes are either against the rear scope ring or very close to it. Really need two extended rings for optimum clearance. The objective bell on many 40 mm scopes will contact the Quarter Rib before the scope is back far enough. That’s the issue I’m having with a Leupold Vari X111 in a 2 1/2 x 10 50 mm. Good luck on finding high offset/extended 1” rings if you need them.
