Sig Electro Optics says that the laser diode in the Kilo2000 is intended for use domesticcally (the US) and that the Kilo2000 Class1M is for use in european countries that have specific limitations on laser bandwidth, So, if you're headed to the Swiss Alps for sheep, the Class 1M is what you're looking for.
