The silent capture spring has a central guide rod that the spring rides on [keeping it away from the extension tube walls, & thereby providing the "silent" aspect of it] which with a normal BCG, the carrier can telescope over the guide rod as it cycles, since the back half of the BCG is hollow. With BCGs for blowback PCCs, there is a weight pinned into the back half of the carrier to provide the extra mass required to delay the opening of the breech until after the bullet has left the barrel. Since you can't use a standard heavy buffer with the silent captured spring(s), and you can't get enough mass into the system otherwise to delay bolt opening, while you *technically* can operate the BCG with the pinned wt. deleted, you cannot do so *safely*. Ergo, the manf. recommends against it...
